Its Direct Cool cooling system, adjustable thermostat, tempered-glass shelves, vegetable crisper and reversible door make it a practical choice for everyday food storage.

The refrigerator has a Frost Silver finish, compact dimensions and low-noise operation, making it particularly suitable for smaller living spaces. Current Kenyan listings specify a 2-year manufacturer warranty.

91L Compact Capacity

The 91-litre capacity makes the REF091DR ideal for buyers who need a practical refrigerator but do not require the storage space of a large family fridge.

It can accommodate everyday essentials such as:

• Milk and dairy products
• Fruits and vegetables
• Drinks and bottled water
• Leftovers and prepared meals
• Eggs and packaged foods
• Frozen foods
• Ice and other small frozen items

The compact capacity makes it particularly suitable for individuals, couples, students, small households and office use.

Some Kenyan listings break the capacity into approximately 62L refrigerator space and 29L freezer space, giving you dedicated areas for fresh and frozen food.

Double-Door Design with Separate Freezer

Unlike a typical mini fridge with a small internal freezer box, the REF091DR features a true double-door configuration.

The top freezer compartment provides dedicated space for frozen foods and ice, while the lower refrigerator compartment is used for fresh groceries, drinks and other chilled items.

The separate doors also help keep the freezer and refrigerator sections organized and easily accessible.

Direct Cool Refrigeration

The Hisense REF091DR uses Direct Cool technology for everyday refrigeration.

Direct Cool is a straightforward cooling system commonly used in compact refrigerators. Because it is not a Total No Frost refrigerator, some frost accumulation can occur and periodic defrosting may be required.

For accurate product marketing, the REF091DR should therefore be described as a Direct Cool refrigerator rather than a Total No Frost model.

2kg Freezing Capacity

The freezer section has a specified freezing capacity of approximately 2kg per 24 hours.

This makes the freezer suitable for everyday frozen foods, ice and other smaller quantities of frozen items.

Adjustable Temperature Control

The REF091DR uses an adjustable thermostat, allowing you to change the cooling level according to your storage requirements.

The temperature control knob is simple to operate and can be adjusted depending on factors such as ambient temperature, the quantity of food stored and seasonal conditions.

Tempered-Glass Shelves

The refrigerator compartment features tempered-glass shelving.

The shelves provide a sturdy surface for food containers, bottles and groceries while helping you organize the available interior space. Tempered glass is also relatively easy to remove and clean when necessary.

Vegetable Crisper

A dedicated vegetable crisper drawer provides separate storage for fruits and vegetables.

Keeping fresh produce in a dedicated compartment helps organize the refrigerator while making commonly used vegetables and fruits easier to access.

Convenient Door Storage

The REF091DR provides door storage for bottles, condiments and frequently used items.

Some Kenyan listings specifically mention a bottle bin capable of accommodating 2-litre bottles, making the door useful for drinks and larger containers.

Reversible Door Design

The reversible door design provides flexibility when positioning the refrigerator.

Depending on your kitchen layout, the door can be configured to open from the preferred side. This is particularly useful in compact kitchens, bedsitters, offices and spaces where the refrigerator needs to be positioned close to a wall or cabinet.

Low-Noise Operation

The REF091DR is designed for quiet operation, with current Kenyan specifications listing noise levels of approximately 38–39dB.

This makes it suitable for environments where excessive appliance noise would be inconvenient, including:

• Bedrooms
• Bedsitters
• Studio apartments
• Offices
• Student accommodation
• Small kitchens

Compact Space-Saving Design

One of the biggest advantages of the REF091DR is its compact footprint.

Current Kenyan specifications list dimensions of approximately 475 × 446 × 842mm (W × D × H) on one current Hisense Kenya listing. Another Hisense Kenya listing gives 492 × 466 × 873mm, so exact dimensions should be checked against the physical unit or carton before installation.

This compact size makes the refrigerator suitable for spaces where a standard 200L–300L refrigerator would be unnecessarily large.

Frost Silver Finish

The REF091DR comes in a Frost Silver finish, providing a neutral and modern appearance suitable for contemporary kitchens and office environments.

Energy Consumption

Current Kenyan listings specify approximately 256kWh of annual energy consumption and an F energy rating for the REF091DR.

Therefore, the original claim that this refrigerator is “Energy Star certified” should not be used in the product description. Energy Star certification is different from an appliance energy rating, and the available Kenyan specifications do not support that certification claim.
